An Email Higher Ground received from Hank's Owner Brad Kohler:
Hank has sired 3 litters (2 tested) one will test this spring. He also has two bitches pregnant right now. My uncle used him and only had a couple dogs test. All first-time handlers. 65 VJP average and only 2 dogs HZP 176 and 186 I believe. Another litter had a bigger number test. 69.5 litter average and that included a 56 with a first-time handler. I don't know his HZP average. To my knowledge, he hasn't had a disqualifying breed fault in those two litters except for one male out of his 3rd litter had a testicle that didn't drop. Hank has never met a stranger. He's a house dog and has the switch. Is a big teddy bear but a beast in the field. No problem hunting with other male dogs or anything like that. I would trust him to babysit your grandkids anytime. I honestly think his temperament is his biggest attribute. Biggest weakness overall would be tracking. Solid point and solid water dog. Not going to claim he's the best DD that ever was but there isn't a dollar amount that I would sell him for. Brad |
